do you recon its a bad idea to try and circuit bend a web cam? As in do you think bending it could potentially kick out some funky volts that would break the computer you had it plugged into...?

As long as you're sensible, the worst you'll do is blow the USB port. So, use a powered USB hub, and blow that instead.
