There is no question about it; it is the pie of all pies. Unfortunately eating them kills you but I still eat a few now and then. Waitrose do some nice mini ones that come in a cardboard tube, and also a chicken and bacon pork pie...here we go again
This is essential stuff to know. Think of all the people searching for information on pork pies on google who will stumble upon this forum and be overcome with a depraved lust for circuitbending. The wider the range of topics we address here the better.
If a pork pie is a snack then surely you'd also have to class a scotch egg as a snack and then you are in a whole world of hurt. More importantly, would a pork pie be classed as a Scotch Pie if you encased it in sausage meat and breadcrumbs. In fact is there actually a verb 'to scotch' something?
Could i produce a Scotch FatDave using this technique?

Yes here we go:
Scotch, toverb a cooking tecnique popular in Scotland that involves covering something in batter and deep-frying it, such as a pie or a roast dinner. Also see stonner
1000 calories with 46g of fat including a portion of chips (£3), 'the most dangerous supper in Scotland' is the creation of Saei Sangag, owner of a chip shop on Glasgow's Old Dumbarton Road, who says he got the name from Chewin' the Fat, a cult Scottish comedy. 'I wondered if the name was a bit risky but most people think it's great... it's flying out of the fryers.'
My good friend Karlston informs me that if we didn't have good old fashioned fox hunting then the pork pie would never of been invented and this thread would make absolutley no sense at all. He has no evidence to back this up but i feel inclined to believe the old boy.
The Pastry was wrapped around the meat to keep it from harms way, come lunchtime the fuckwits discarded the pastry and tucked into the fresh meaty based snack .
I'm assuming this was a time way before some bright spark came up with the idea that we now know as the lunchbox.
