The idea came with my pss 390 keyboard.
i had the feeling that it wasn't right to drill holes in it.
then came the pss790. i don't want to spoil this baby also.
so i've made a design for a universal "bendbox"
i guess it has been done before, but here's my idea :

a box with several connectors, wich come together in a patchbay, wich includes knobs etc

in my box, i made 3 computer style connectors ; 25 pins, 15 pins (joystick Tongue) and 9 pins,
this way, i can combine 3 instruments/ toys, or 2 instruments and a joystick and patch them anyway i like.
further i included 2 differend ldr, controlled with an old diaphragm lense, and
6 pots with values from 100 ohm to 10 meg, and a few touch points
i didn't have much space left for other things (but who knows what the next box will bring Grin)

i must say that so far i didn't test it yet,as it is just finished, but at this moment i see only advantages in this
approach to circuitbending :
-no more drilling in nice instruments, just a discrete port somewhere
-no more frustrations about the lack of space
-no regrets afterwards about things i should have done differend
-save money: the only costs (apart from the instrument itself) will be for the connector, and those are realy cheap; you can't buy a pot for that Smiley
-safe time (if that's importand); find 25/15/9 interesting points, solder the connector, and find out the
interesting combinations later
-very easy to interconnect differend instruments/toys/joysticks together and let them trigger each other
-etc Cheesy

the only disadvantage i see at this moment, are the almost unlimited possibilities to combine bending points
witch will make it nessecery to use some sort of "logbook" to write things down.
and ofcourse ,if you bent to sell stuff it is not so handy to work this way....but even then.

i have seen the light ! Grin

But what do you think about this approach ?? do you have other/ better ideas about it ? let us dicuss the idea...

btw; for those who are interested, i will put some pics in an esnips folder, couse i can't upload them here.

greetz, nochtanz
