I've just finished my preliminary bends and this door-wedge is a beauty!
I would be happy to never have to make a patchbay ever again, at least not with banana sockets!
The only downfall is 4 combos reset the machine... but that's almost easily remedied.
Huspaz!

what issues did you have with banana sockets? is it not just an issue of drill, secure, solder?

It was the securing that was a pain.
I bought the cheap and cheerful non-rohs cross-threading sockets of doom.
Fitting 28 of them resulted in cramped up digits... but i think it was of valuable experience because I'm only ever going to use mini-jack sockets from now on!

My RX17 always seems to flash that message at start up, doesn't really affect the funcionality for me as I sequence patterns via midi.

I've just got a new un-bent RX17 and had a poke around and found the same problem when shorting connections on the 28 pin chip next to the stupidly hardcore looking chip. However I took apart my other RX17 to have a look at how the guy I bought it off bent it and he shorted connections on the two chips next ti the 90 degree bit of aluminium.

Yeah, i done the same but still get the odd crash-induced reset if i hook up certain points on the patchbay. It's no big deal though because i know which points to avoid. I may just make a switch based break-out box so I can find the best sounding stable bends... unless you fancy pointing me in the right direction.......

I'd be a bit careful with wiring up chip pins that cause crashes to a patchbay. In my experience they tend to be the power inputs to the chip and you'll probably notice sparks when you make the connection. Sonner or later you'll get a patching comination that will fry the circuit.
Bends that cause sparks are never healthy.

I've not had more than a poke around, but I found a screaming hi freq distortion.
