Cutting data lines

I was reading a post about a Yamaha PSS-270, which gave a link to a bend lesson about this machine. It involves cutting the data lines going from the FM synth chip to the main chip.
How in the hell do you do that?

with a knife
if you are not certain, give another cut next to the first.
but be carefull : don't cut more lines than you have to, so choose a position
where is enough space to cut.
you're about to have a great time with that 270 !
