i am very new at this and recently got reed ghazala's book. i was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on bending a speak and spell compact. i do not want to fry it like my first attempt at bending a speak and math witch i killed. the circuit board is different than the regular speak and spell so tips on what not to do as well as what to do would be appreciated.

Just avoid the capacitors. I haven't done one of the compact Speaks, but on the Read, Spell, and Math the capacitors are kind of fussy and can break the machine if you're not careful.
