Can a ROLAND RS-202 String Synth be Bent/Modded?

I have an old mid 70's Roland String Synth (RS-202). It's cool, very retro, best heard on Bowie's 'Sound & Vision' off of 'LOW'. BUT, the thing is limited and dull as all get out. It's not MIDI compatible, it has no filters, it just is what it is. But it IS analog, and it IS a synthesizer.
Has anyone modded one of these? As it's a 'real' board that has real power going to it, I'm not touching it, but if it can be done, I'd like to know.
