Hi there,

iI've done some soundsynthesis with PIC Micrcontroller (yeah 8bit style)
two synthesis forms based on chaos theory (celular automata and a fraktal (sirpinsky triangle) )
http://etecnic.fh-pforzheim.de/~catweazle/F-Synth/
And ...

a loop sampler (records up to 30 loops), randomized sampleplayback (slice reorder)
(sound 1.mp3 ... sound x.mp3)

Just walked home listening to The Eyes of Stanley Pain album by Download and listening to those demos is almost exactly the same, spooky  Wink

I'm really liking the fractal synth demo's, especially 02.

Where can i get one of those?

Thanks for your interest Smiley

I just finished the hard- and software framework. Both devices are still under development.

The Fraktal/CellilarAutomata Synth ...
is available soon. The PCB is designed and I will etch some soon.
The algorithms should be expanded a bit more before I can give it away.
I could send interested people the pcb (soldered or only etched pcb),
the pcb would be self etched (not professional industry PCB).
You only have to solder some pots and switches on the PCB and have fun.
(and the best: you can bend it then)
The Software is stored in the Mikrocontroller, so for software updates the controller can be removed
and send back for doing the software update.
I don't have the time to sell it professional.

The LoopSampler ...
needs some more time. I have to develop a human user interface first, I control it via a PC software (written in VisualBasic) so its not in release state yet. The hardware for the looper will be much more expensive.
A lot of ideas to implement...
If you have any suggestens for looping algorithms or ideas what could be done with a loop - let me know

I keep you informed about the projects and availabe pcbs

I've uploaded two new soundsamples for the "FractalSynth"

Recorded directly from the device, the audio output has an wide frequency spectrum from
deep to high pitched notes, perfect for use with eq and filters (Korg, MB33 Wink

the audio samples shows only a little of the different sounds produced by the synth,
little changes of the pots change sequence and tone often dramatic

for those interested in the * 8bit sampler *
inpsiried by bending the CASIO SK-8 / SK-1

My goal is an software (xtremely) bended casio sk-1 Smiley

- The Random Slice Reorder works fine now (ok random should be more controlable)
Audio Sample is recorded with the 8bit Mircrocontroller, mixer and digitech x-series digital delay
Mr Igor Stravinsky makes some nOisE ! Wink   Grin

more can be found in the this directory (will be updated sometimes ...

hope you enjoy it   Cool
