Either i'm being really stupid or i'm missing something fundamental.
Does anyone know what the tool is called that you use to tighten up the nuts on minijack sockets? The round nuts that have a screwdriver slot on either side of the actual socket hole so you'd need a flat bladed screwdriver with the middle of the blade missing to tighten it. I'm sure you must be able to buy screwdriver bits like this but i can't seem to find any. I do have a few 'spanner bits' which would do the job if i could find any big enough.
I've ended up having to make my own tool out of a piece of steel tube with the end filed to fit in the slots on the nut.
Hi - I have no idea what the tool is called. I know the type of nuts you mean though, I have sometimes seen them referred to as 'slotted ring nuts' otherwise they have only been referred to as just 'fixing nuts' which isn't much help. Googling slotted ring nuts provides little help either
I've googled all day but can't find anything like it, to find out what it is. The problem is, I don't know what to call it to search for it, but then if I knew what it was called, I wouldn't be searching for it.
