Quality control on stuff people want to buy?
« on: August 25, 2008, 03:34:19 PM »

I'm still fairly new to bending but I'm starting to get some interest from "friends of friends" on buying some things.  I'm curious what kind of "quality control" people might go through before selling anything?  I'm not talking eBay here, just people in my town so returns and repairs wouldn't be such a huge deal but I don't want to have a rep for selling stuff that doesn't last.  Is there anyway to know other than experience or should I just go with the "It's technically already broke so buyer beware?"

Thanks!

I've never had anyone come back to me and complain that anything I've bent has broke, but the best way to be sure is to test the item once it's finished. If it can withstand 2 hours of intensive switch flicking, button pushing and patching it should last the distance. Just make sure everything is mounted nicely and all the cabling is neat.

Don't sell the first one that you do, of a particular model.  You never know, until you've tested it to destruction yourself...

Well, i sell stuff with the proviso that it has been as throughly tested as humanly possible but everything is operating well outside of its original design tolerances so its always possible that unforeseen problems may occur.
