Who uses circuitbenders?
« on: October 10, 2005, 06:37:56 PM »

In a stroke of gratuitous self promostion we would like to casually mention in passing that Circuitbenders have built machines and supplied sounds for::

THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS
Plump DJ's
Raiden (renegade hardware / Off Key records)
Twisted Records (Hallucinogen, Shpongle, OTT, Younger Brother etc etc)
Jacknife Lee (U2 producer, remixer, Compulsion)
Howie Miura (Island / Def Jam)
Noise inc
matrix22 (12 Inch Thumpers, Brick records)
Glitchswitch
Sniffing General
Groove Criminals (future music cover DVD samples etc)
Kutchi

Along with several hundred others who may or may not be famous in some respect.
If you've bought something from us and want to be added to the list get in touch at info@circuitbenders.co.uk

Word has it theres some circuitbenders gear used on the new Bloc Party record. Aren't they one of those popular beat combo's the kids are into these days? Anyone know which track?

I think it's going to be an Alesis HR-16 if i recall correctly.

theres a mention of it here http://remixmag.com/artists/electronic/remix_bloc_party_album/index1.html

“I also have some Alesis drum machines from a really good guy in England who does a lot of circuit bending,” Lee raves. “Gordon would take those and do maybe 10 minutes of just plugging things in and out, and then I would listen back and chop out the nice bits and put them in time.

My mother would be so proud  ;)

I know trent reznor has a tablebeast SK-1. Jessie Tablebeast has been milking it for years although he is probably the most unpopular person in circuitbending  ;D

Jacknife Lee tells me he's going to try and shoehorn some circuitbenders kit onto the new REM album he's producing.

How bizarre, RE-feckin-M use kit i've built. The ultimate in pub based boasting  ;)

...YEah, if that doesn't get you some pussy the pussy is not good. Ahhh... Lessee....

FRANK FUCKING ZAPPA! Seriously I was watching "baby snakes" (the one with the claymation that could drive a normal person mad), and I'm pretty sure terry bozzio gives him this little four button police car toy that says a bunch of stupid stuff like "Freeze or I'll shoot, I need back up!" and then plays some low fi gunfire. He puts it in a sink and douses it with water until it starts freaking out, and then He does a cop car solo (live) latter in the video.... I think the show went down some time in 1975

Heh.  Tell the bent HR16 users that if they want custom ROMs I'll sort them out ;-)
