Hi my ebay id is iqoruvuc - the same as it is here.  I do use eBay occasionally to buy stuff but only when I really want something or it goes cheap.  It can end up taking all your time if looking through listing and watching things for days only to find in the last 20 seconds people bid way above what you would have paid for it anyway.  Carboots are my favourite; I especially like the pretence of pertending that I'm not really bothered about what I am buying to get them to lower the price, and hearing that they had 'only played it last night' irrespective of the fact it is sodden with dirt and covered in dust.

I have never sold my circuit bent devices though it is feasible that I will have a clearout one day, though this would be to clear space rather then make a quick buck.  I do buy too much and have an ever growing pile of duplcate keyboards, speak and spells etc - it would be good idea to trade.

Theres a new trading section on this forum accessable from the main page

I once bought an Akai S900 with the horribly rare drum trigger input board from a car boot sale for £5 as the woman thought it was a video recorder!

And yet somehow i still felt gutted that i hadn't knocked the price down a bit Roll Eyes

One of my best purchases to date from a carboot sale was a Dragon 32 computer which made some electrical noise when I turned it on and then started smoking, although I once dreamt I found a 303 at a carboot sale that looked like a wasp.

I found a Korg MS20 at a carboot sale for £1 once, but then I realised I wasn't wearing any clothes and was chased by a ninefoot monster from hell...or was that another dream Undecided

anyone know who goes under the name 'badsequel' on ebay? Whoever it is seems intent on churning out crap by the truckload.

4 switches and a body contact on an SK-1!!! must have taken all of 10 minutes to do that one.
5 switches on a DD6 with a buy it now of £85, what the feck is going on!  Shocked

If i had known people would pay this much for 10 minutes work then i wouldn't have bothered setting up the circuitbenders site and this forum, i could be living in the caribbean by now Grin

Set up a fake account, buy something from him and then send some heavies round to show him the error of his ways.

Hmmm, that'll teach me to post on forums whilst drunk  Wink

but i stand by what i said there. A lot of stuff seems to sell for a lot of money on ebay for what appears to be very little time, effort and actual skill put into building it. Mr badsequel whoever he may be has obviously seen SK-1's and DD-6's with the kind of more complex mods we, and others do for them and so must know that a lot more is possible and that its entirely possible to make far more impressive and professional machines if someone is willing to put in some effort. He obviously can't be bothered as he's more interested in a quick profit. To me it kind of negates the whole idea of circuitbending

But hey, why bother if you can spend 10 minutes putting 5 switches on a drum machine and sell it for £85. If thats what some people are willing to pay...............

I think you sold a SA-21 the other day didn't you? The difference is as i recall you hadn't seen a bent one before an neither had anyone else so you worked out how to bend it from scratch, perhaps with some advice from this forum. Ok, and thats fair enough, but if you had seen several bent SA-21's with loads of controls and patchbays etc, on them, and then just put a couple of switches on it and sold it for an absurd amount then that would be a bit shit i reckon.

This is kind of why circuitbenders don't sell much on ebay anymore. Some of the crap that gets sold under the name 'circuit-bent' has reduced the concept to a couple of switches soldered into an SK-1. Sad

Anyway, thats my rant for the day Roll Eyes

Your right, it's sad more than anything that someone is wasting the potential of machines like those for a quick profit. Oh well, people will probably cotton on eventually that they're paying over the odds for machies that aren't that good.

EBAY isn't very good if you look for circuit bending stuff at reasonable prices.
