Title: Best NON-CASIO, NON-YAMAHA keyboards?
Post by: 3rdness on December 31, 2008, 08:19:36 PM
I recently got a bontempi minstrel and it is loaded with tasty bends.

Just wondering about everyone else's favorite non casio or yamaha keyboards......

Thanks a lot,

Noam

The old squarewave based Hing Hon EK-001 is a favorite of mine! Crazy modulation and glitches inside.  Here's mine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsGhXGlDGOw

I've not obtained anything by Bontempi yet, but I plan to eventually.

P.S. 3rdness, I watched through a bunch of your videos recently.  That talking whiz kid is amazing. Did it sell? I also liked that little tune you put together on the minstrel with the barbie karaoke machine.

hing hon kb's are fantastic :) i think i got about 5 of these now - they rock!

i'm quite fond of the bontempi 666 sound keyboards - stay away from the tiny versions - the large keyboard is better - more space to mess around and seemingly more reliable (u can get some fab noises outta these! :)

I love your hing hon, breakbeat.  that shit is off the hook.

I fried one of those once (i really didn't know what I was doing then), so have been a little shy, but you give me hope.

Meanwhile, that Whiz Kid didn't sell.  I'm gonna play with it a little more and then try again I guess.

Hahaha, I love that. I'm going to have to start saying that more.
