I’ve never circuit bent anything before I’m a total beginner however I’ve just picked up Yamaha VSS200 for £5 from a car boot sale and now I want to build patchbay on the front of it connecting to the rom/ram chips etc.I would like to use the mini jack type jacks.

I have no idea what parts I would need ,Looking at other posts I assume I need “miniature jack sockets” (about 14 of them ?)
I don’t even know the “name/term” for the plastic I would use to seat the jack sockets.
I read a post and took note that the spare printer cables I have laying about the house are great for wire so I won’t need any wire.

If somebody could list me the parts I need that would be great , I live in the UK so any links would be a bonus I’ve been looking around “Rapid electronics” website but don’t know what I’m looking at.

If you're wanting to use 3.5mm jack sockets these wil do the job:

I'm not sure what you mean by 'the “name/term” for the plastic I would use to seat the jack sockets'. I usually just drill holes in the front panel.

I managed to order '15' 3.5mm mono jack sockets off ebays for £5.50.

I've been reading through the forum and had a change of mind, im going to take the forum advise and have a go at my speak & spell first im poping down maplin today to look at some solder irons ive also noticed ill need a Torx screwdriver to open the speech & spell lol.

i'll also order a selection of switches/buttons today.

The only time you need a torx screwdriver to open a speak & spell is when you don't have one. I'd say about 30% of speak & spells use Torx headed screws, but mysteriously that raises to at least 80% if you don't own a Torx driver.

torx drivers can usually be purchased at auto parts stores.
