question about capacitors...
« on: February 18, 2010, 02:55:47 AM »

i made the mistake when ordering caps recently of ordering the correct farad rating 0.1uf, .01uf  10uf, but did not check the proper wattage. i guess i should have been bright eyed and bushy tailed, instead of sleepy late at night when i made my order.

my question is, if the wattage is MORE than it needs to be, would it hurt to use the cap? i could understand the opposite being detrimental in a power amplifier or something. i am talking about in a circuit using a 9v battery?

thanks.

I'm guessing you mean "voltage", not wattage.  Yes, a higher rating is perfectly okay.
