I'd be looking at the volume slider, and then printing out the words "always suspect hardware fuckups first" onto a piece of paper to get framed above your workbench.
I'm saying this as someone who recently spent 5 hours searching for ever more esoteric reasons for a fault in a digital multitrack, before discovering a very obvious crack in the circuitboard!

Realistically you can't get one.
Those are Roland in house part numbers as its a custom made screen. You can't just get a drop in replacement from elsewhere and Roland haven't stocked parts for decades.

Hi All -

I'm fixing up a Kawai R50 drum machine and before I can start bending, this one has no sound from the right output (headphones or line out - the L/Mono works fine).  I've replaced the op amp at the end of the signal chain but saw no difference.  Does anyone have access to Kawai R50 technical information?  I've found schematics for the R100 bu no R50.  Thanks!

I use the Mooer Pure Octave +/- 1 or 2 octaves. Lots of options.  Definitely adds some artefacts. I've also used the hotone octave pedal.

I haven't bent any of them as they are both really small, and I imagine really tiny SMD circuits.

thanks for the advice about checking the continuity, I will for sure remember doing it in the future if i have to cut a trace!

hmm I tuned it so the range is exactly one octave up, but iirc I could tune it a bit higher (maybe one octave and a fifth/tritone) - i will confirm that soon. octavers are cool, I will soon buy one of those cheap behringer/chinese/unbranded. did you tried bending them (and if yes did you find interesting sounds)?

glad to hear you got it working. always good to check continuity when you cut a trace.

Just wondering, what range of pitch bending do you get? I thought it was possible to bend more than octave up and an octave or two down, but I don't get anywhere near an octave up on mine.  It has been many years since of touched it, and I now have cheap octave pedals in my rig that I use to get bass/super high parts.

I appreciate your feedback.

Oh yeah, I have the green and yellow cables crossed over  :-[

That was the best sound I got from adjusting VR2, it only got worse, I’m sure it’s the correct value but I will double check later and order a new one regardless from a more reputable supplier.

Cheers
Dave
