Bought an Akai S3000XL from ebay for £25 as it appeared to be a 120v model. When i opened it up not only did i discover that it appears to have some kind of switched mode power supply with a jumper to set it to 240v, but it also has 32MB RAM and the FX card installed, which is worth about £100 on its own.

if only i hadn't sold my MPC2000XL because i couldn't afford the outputs board or the FX card............... ::)
i am not paid to listen to this drivel, you are a terminal fool

I also bought my beloved Korg Monopoly for 100 quid from an ex college tutor who preferred the sound of his 01/W and he threw in a VC10 vocoder for £40 extra.

My mate got his SH-101 for £25 from two elderly brothers who shared a semi-detatched house in Crawley which was stuffed full of dusty Hammond organs. I think he was lucky to leave with his life let alone a classic monosynth.

Where are you? Sell me the vocoder, please!!!! Will pay... hum... 100-200 eur depending on shape!

Sorry LoneStar81, I bought that VC-10 years ago and have long since sold it. A music dealer bought it from me and sent a courier a couple of hundred miles to pick it up, sight unseen (pre-ebay!), so I guess they were pretty excited about it too. It was in great shape and still had it's original goose-neck mic. I do kind of regret selling it sometimes, even now, but these things happen - you can't keep em all...  :-\

I got a Yamaha DX-7 + data cartridge + hardcase for roughly 35 € today  ;D

Gordonjcp

Very nice.  Don't - whatever you do - don't bend it ;-)

Good DX7s are surprisingly hard to find these days.
If at first you don't succeed, stick it through a fuzzbox.

moordenaar

Oh. Why would I not ? It's an FM synth.

I got offered a Linndrum LM-2 for 300 €. I don't know if I'm buing it thou.. Help me out.

Gordonjcp

Because it's worth more not messed about with.  They did build quite a lot of them, but if yours is in particularly good condition it's better to keep it that way and buy a scruffy one to modify ;-)

Well it's a bit battered. Or well, some paint is scraped of here and there. So prestine it is not.

How much would you reckon it's worth ?

moordenaar

Don't bother I just looked on fleabay and I'd say max 150 US$.

On another note for all you yankes there's a broken MC-303 for 50 US$ buy now on fleabay

moordenaar

OH damn ! My neighbor just dropped off a Roland R8 MkII for me. For "free" ! I just gave him some 2 gig ram for his laptop the other day. What a trade ! ;D

4 op fm.. pcm drums.. very nice keyboard to bend, i think my favourite pss keyboard

got a dw8000 for 150 last month and a bcr2000 for 50.. (euro)
very awsome combination for 200 i think (sold my juno60 to make place !!) and the best is, bcr2000 can also control parameters of my dx7, vz1 cz101, tx81z, and make them a lot more interesting i guess

(the cz101 and the tx81z -both bassmonsters- i got for 45 each, the dx7 was a bit more -60euro- but it had backlight and greymatter upgrade installed :D just bragging about what i got)

I just won a Synsonics Drums 5281 on Ebay for  $10! It's in the original box too.

It's about what it's really worth, but a LOT cheaper than what they're selling for.

Awesome.

Got a MAM VF-11 vocoder lately... and lotsa vinyl too :)

As for the DX7, any claim that there are not many good ones around is simply not true. It's the 2nd most sold synth in history, they sold around 160000 of them. You can find them everywhere in all shapes. Just look closer ;)
