Title: tr909 snare problem
Post by: selfpreservation on March 17, 2011, 09:11:21 AM
my tr909 snare sounds weird these days it sounds to me like the tom or "tune" part of the sound is ringing , ie not decaying i can see from the schematic that there are several envelopes used to make this sound and im guessing env 1 affects the tune could anyone give me any insight on where to start looking for faults ie which components that could be suspect , im guessing the capacitor in env1 or a  transistor , i just a bit reluctant to start blindly poking around inside such a valuable machine and i cant find anyone in a 100 mile radius that can fix it  :-[
here is the schematic of the snare

a sound sample would helpful for people to work out exactly what it is that is different about the sound- i would say tread with caution inside such a valuable machine, good luck.
