sk1 problem
« on: April 29, 2009, 03:01:08 AM »

i have a problem with the sk1. it doesnt play when i hit 1 key, but if i hold 1 key (any key), and then hit some keys, it plays, so it must always have 1 key held while playing it. but it doesnt play when i only hit 1 key at a time... does anyone know why this is?

Sounds like the first note of polyphony isn't playing to me. Do you get 3 or 4 more notes after you hold the first key down? The SK1 should have a maximum 4 note polyphony.

I don't really have a solution to why this should be the case but its something to think about.

Is the SK stock or has it been bent? If it has been bent, it could be interfering with the voice 1 CV line, and so shorting it out and not opening the voice 1 VCA. If you haven't bent it, open it up and see if there are signs of bending, like wires attached in a bendy way and unhook them.

Cheers, Graham
