mmmm, santa has come early this year  ;)

'Sounds created using FM waveform synthesis'

That could mean anything, although it doesn't sound like samples so maybe there is some kind of actualy synthesis going on in there. Its a shame there doesn't seem to be any way to sync it to anything without some kind of hacking.

Someone buy one of these things and let us know whats inside  :)

this thing is cool!

it sounds good! (i dont know if it sounds better through my computer into my stereo and big speakers that it actually sounds?).

it's small enough. i think it would look cool to get modular, and build other controls in another box.

maybe even think outside the box of circuit bending. do any cool bends, of course. but, could the audio signal be sent into an separate modulator or oscilator?

This is exactly what I want to do to my Merlin handheld, except I'd have to bend it and add a synth circuit so that Merlin's buttons and LEDs become the matrix itself.  I'd love to know how this thing works, because I can think of quite a few toys with similar interfaces that could also be hacked and converted into portable, handheld synths.

This bliptronic synth is mega cool and I've just written it down on my 'TO BUY' list for 2010!  ;D

Fun, fun, fun!

i wonder if you can easily isolate the switching mechanism, maybe even without the sequencer, and hook it up to other sources to interconnect them.
if so, this could be a cheap substitute for Synthi-style matrixes  :-\
might have to buy me one..
