Title: Yamaha PSR-8, PSR 27, 37, 38, 48

So, like it says on the front, these use the DASS sampling engine (dual architechture synthesis system) as a primitive version of AWM. Can these keyboards be bent without crashing? Also if anyone has ever looked inside one of these, what IC's do they have? I presume the main sound IC is a cut down OPL4 core or something

Actually, I'm wrong. The sound IC is a TMC3493PH, which is classified as an "AWM & FM tone generator". So it's a cut down version of the DASS engine used in the TG33. So far, not a bad prospect. It bends real nice, no crashes at all. I'm only touching the SMD chip, any other points would most likely crash it or fry it, stay away from those
