Title: yamaha ry30
Post by: mar on November 12, 2012, 05:59:26 PM
Hi, newbie here.

I'd like to mod a yamaha ry30. never done something like that, but I do have some soldering experience and I'm doing some practicing on a similar (in dimensions) chip I found inside broken gear.
I just have some questions for you experts, if I may.
I can't remember where, and I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I've red somewhere some of the pins of this kind of chip I'm going to modify (ic 105) are not safe to mess with..am I wrong? if not, could anyone tell me which pins are those? I've seen the pics of basshell's modified ry30, but can't really tell if any of the pin was left untouched..
Secondly, I was thinking to use banana-jack for the connections, for connecting more than 2 pins at time, but I'm not sure if this a good idea or not, nor if the sound variety would really benefit from this. I would also be curious to know from you guys what your favorite connection are..standard jacks? banana jacks? rca jacks?

That's it for now, thanks in advance for any help, and forgive my rusted english!
