Title: Circuit bent megadrive
Post by: MagpieIndustries on November 15, 2006, 07:13:03 AM
Here is an article (http://magpieindustries.org/CircuitBent/MegaDrive) I wrote about my circuit bent Sega MegaDrive. I'm using it in a live performance tomorrow night, can't wait to see how the audience will react :)

i love the glitchy video effects you're getting from the megadrive. nice.  :)

i don't see how the sk1 is interacting with the megadrive though? is it connected somehow?

good luck with your live show!

Glad you liked it :)   I simply wired up the patch bay on the sk-1 to the patchbay on the megadrive. It didn't produce very strong effects, mainly some interference. The sk-1 sounded a little odd at times but overall it was not quite as dramatic as I hoped. Perhaps adding a common ground connection between the two devices would help. Could also use a 4066 chip to toggle the megadrive bends on and off I guess. I'll try some more dramatic connections between them after the show, but I dont want to risk thrashing both machines before then. If anything happens afterwards Ill upload some videos :)
