The nice thing about the PSS-31 is that all the instruments are sample-based (AWM), not FM synthesis based.  So it is very much like a Yamaha version of the larger Casio SA series, except the PSS-31 has pretty standard sounding instruments and nothing too tekkno-like, as the SA's have.  I don't have a PSS-31 yet, but I want one simply because it looks cool and isn't FM.  The samples on this unit are supposed to sound pretty clean, clear and great for sampling.  Oh, plus it has four rhythm pads and 12 key polyphony which makes it all the more cooler!  :)
