Hmm, hydrogen peroxide isn't an especially mild oxidising agent, even at 3%.

after handling some hydrogen perroxide last night and getting a spill on my finger it burns, leaves white patches on your skin (which disappear but are itchy/irritable), pretty crazy stuff-look what it does to hair. I think whatever method you use to dissolve metal is always going to involve some kind of danger. I think i would stick with ferric, which isn't perfect by any means but it is tried and tested. Interesting though.
