work spaces...
« on: May 03, 2010, 03:22:21 PM »

i was just wondering what everybodies workspaces are like. (i know there was a thread like this before, but i could not find it, and people seem annoyed by posting on inactive threads...).

ideally, a workspace that is clean, organized, and negative space works wonders...well, mine seems to start this way then back to chaos...sigh.

any tips?

I know this is an old post but I've only just seen it and felt compelled to reply as my "workspace" is sooo shite. Its my kitchen which is small (I think an estate agent called it "compact") and there's no table so projects can get pretty back breaking. How we suffer for our art!

I just reorganised my workspace-it was right next to where i actually make music and the two just got mixed up and it got impossible to work in and was cluttered in the extreme, i've now pulled the two apart and it is working much better with a seperate area for each making music, making music instruments.  I've been more productive since doing this and it actually seems easier to keep tidy.

Yeah I find I work better with a tidy workspace - not that you'd know it from that photo. Even looking at it now has brought me out in a cold sweat. The horror.

this is what just happened to me as i started doing circuit bending . it used to be a music studio , now there is a growing amount of tools, parts  and toys invading the space . i dont have somewere else to start a workshop from scratch . but i fell lucky i have a room to do my ''hobbys'' (musical and electronical)  one year ago my synthesizers was sharing the space with all my  stuff  . dirty clothes , unrelated papers , hand cream and all the rest including that space consuming BED !!

Here's my "work" workspace, earlier today while working on some fairly specialised radio equipment.
