tx81z transformer hum?
« on: December 16, 2011, 04:19:17 PM »

not a 'bending question, but this is a good place to ask:
for all the years i've had it, the transformer on my tx has had a hum.
this isn't audible on the audio, it's a case thing.

someone told me the transformer was 'loose'...do you recognise this
problem/condition? what is the solution if that is the case?

Open it up and tighten the bolts or whatever holds the transformer in place. Or you could always take the transformer out and stick a thin bit of rubber or foam between it and the case. Or get some rubber washers to stick on the mounting screws.

Alternatively you might just need to tighten the case screws. Just tighten everything.....

Second this.

Maybe try resoldering the joints too?
