Title: Hohoho, banned from Yahoo! circuitbending group...
Post by: Gordonjcp on September 01, 2008, 08:34:22 AM
Looks like I might have made zoinky420 cry.  All I did was point out that before you go around accusing people of libel and slander, you work out which one is which - well, mostly.

If you want to read the thread, be quick - he's banning all but the zoinky faithful.  What a sad little figure.

Thats brilliant! As i just posted over there, i haven't signed into that group for ages after everything just descended into zoinky squabbling with everyone in sight and after about 2 years i sign back in to find that its STILL zoinky squabbling with everyone in sight!

You've got to admire his dedication somehow. I would have given up on it years ago.  ;)

My mistake, it turns out theres another circuit bending group 'moderated' by none other than zoinky himself.

I don't think i'll bother getting involved in that one, theres not enough time in my life  :D

but its here if anyones interested, and do try not to laugh. http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/circuitbending/messages

I just got banned from that group.

Zoinky insists that all humans are constantly zapping things with static electricity.  That's how touch bends work, and bigger still, that's how Theremins work.

I don't get his brain.

He really doesn't understand electricity, does he?  He's also posted quite a lot of crap in the Korg Poly-800 Yahoo! group, although he's been quiet for a while.

Could you go on there and say something.

It's really driving me mad. For some stupid reason.  I really don't understand why I care.   I DON'T KNOW WHY!!!!!!!!

Agh.

I feel better.

Oh, and he doesn't know how to ban people, just bounce them.

Zoinky's latest rant...

>
> I just read that article.
>
> I don't believe that it said what you think it did.

Well that's a pretty fucking stupid thing to say, isn't it? First of all, you
don't know what I thought it said. Since I was a fucking little kid I scored in
the top 5 percent for COMPREHENSION. I wasn't very fast BUT I FUCKING KNEW WHAT
I WAS READING.

And that article wasn't exactly rocket science. It was about ESD damaging ICs
and that ICs are calibrated to resist ESD according a measurement of ESD pulse
from the surface of humans that may not be the ideal calibration, and the
article continued on about the technical details of improving upon that
calibration. So are you satisfied that I can READ, or is the problem here more
likely that YOU CAN'T?

>
> I'm leaving this group because there's no discussion here,

SO what? Nobody cares if you leave, you've never engaged in any 'discussion'
here anyway. You're a pathetic leech like 99.9% of my members here and you
should all be grateful I put up with ANY of you. Anyone else want to run off
with his or her marbles in a huff? BE MY FUCKING GUEST, LOSERS!

just some dude trolling someone who obviously has no idea about basic
electronics.
>
> Noiseybeast is wrong for trolling, but Zoinky's just plain stupid.
>

And what about you, are you wrong for being stupid and trolling? Who cares,
certainly not me. You and noiseybeast are both moronic clowns. The greatest
thing either of you have ever accomplished in your lives is wasting 10 or 20
minutes of my superior time.
Title: Re: Hohoho, banned from Yahoo! circuitbending group...Even more zoinkyness!
Post by: noiseybeast on August 01, 2010, 07:32:25 AM
FROM ZOINKY:

I'm no longer putting together the circuit-bending compilation because the people on this group don't deserve my time and effort.

I apologize to anyone who has already submitted tracks who may in fact deserve my time and effort, but I don't have the motivation to put in the time and effort to find out if those kinds of people actually exist here. But there is ample evidence that the type of people who frequent this group are the type of people I wouldn't give the time of day to, because they probably wouldn't understand it anyway ("What's an o'clock? Is that irish?")

And the warm-fuzzy phase where I don't ban people right away if they act like jerks is OVER. Anyone who acts up in the SLIGHTEST in the next few months will be booted and banned. If you want to be critical about anything at all here you're going to have to form a coherent argument. Anyone who does will not be booted and banned, but so far nobody who has criticized anything going on in this group has ever managed to form a coherent argument, so I don't think it's going to be much of an issue.

So there you have it. You people are incapable of playing nice together because you are simply too stupid to be able to do that. Your miniscule attention-spans preclude you from even being able to recognize when someone elses argument is an incoherent fallacious mess. And that's pretty bad. I really hope none of you have paid tuition for any post-secondary schooling, because if so you were severely ripped off.

So goodnight, and good riddence...

/end Zoinky

They're now discussing this thread and forum over there.

Shame zoinky doesn't seem to have actually read or understood any of the threads here that he's quoting, although its quite entertaining reading about what an asshole i am because apparently i have 'a case of sour grapes' over a yahoo group that i don't think i've actually read a single post on up until today!

What the hell is he on about!  ::)
Title: Re: Hohoho, banned from Yahoo! circuitbending group...

I really think that he's got some sort of learning disorder that is coupled with a huge ego.

Either that or he's nuts.  Check out the posts where he freaked out and told everyone they were idiots for not coming to his defense.  There's also a thread where the moderator of the forum chastises zoinky for rude language.  The glitch there is that zoinky is THE ONLY moderator.
Title: Re: Hohoho, banned from Yahoo! circuitbending group...
Post by: electoyd on September 27, 2010, 10:08:58 AM
it's all got messy, bit of a shame really as there is some folk there that want to talk about circuits (not many left admittedly!) but they dont get a look in as there is so much earbashing going on.
Title: Re: Hohoho, banned from Yahoo! circuitbending group...
Post by: angrydroid on October 06, 2010, 05:40:40 PM
Well... I'll probably get banned from the yahoo group (that doesn't actually discuss bending circuits much due to the personality disorder of the moderator) for this but nothing much has changed. Zoinky is just a contentious person. It's still going on. Doesn't really affect me in any manner because there are much better forums out there and I've never been a big fan of yahoo one way or the other. The only thing I really worry about is that the yahoo circuit-bending group probably will serve as a bit of a trojan horse to the general bending community by attracting beginners and then discouraging them or scaring them away.

I rather enjoyed his response to you pointing him to an auction on ebay for an omnichord. Watching zoinky turn something that innocent into a paranoid schizophrenics nightmare  in two simple responses was certainly something impressive to behold!  ;D

It also seems that according to zoinky Gordonjcp on this forum is actually one and the same as angrydroid, which is interesting as one of them posts from the UK and the other from the US! Thats dedication for you!

arrrghhh, this is like some kind of car crash soap opera. Its horrible to behold but i'm addicted!

Thanks for taking the time to read this zoinky or jeremy or whatever your real name is, you're doing a better job promoting this forum than i ever could!  ;)

Title: Re: Hohoho, banned from Yahoo! circuitbending group...

to be honest i think only zoinky is taking things to far, people have tried to discuss circuit bending but they get steam rolled over by paranoid rants and generally slagged off for being 'sockpuppets'.  If he has posted stuff like this in the past threatening to beat up others it is only right people know about it.  He likes to wind people up and get a reaction, and he gets a reaction so he keeps doing it.  I thought the omnichord rant did sum up whats going on over there, there is no humour only bad vibes, from zoinkys side anyway.  Gordon jcp you featured in two of his lastest ranting emails that i just got this morning, he was saying what an asset you had been to his forum  ;) eh well not quite.

For the record, I am me and not GordonJcp... whomever that is. But he ain't me.

But yes, noisybeast, wasn't this an interesting development? I have subsequently been quietly banned overnight.

Here's a summary with links for anybody interested... I think I am done with Yahoo groups.

http://www.tonews.com/thread/1415493/alt/usenet/stalker/jeremy_tolsma_auk_alert_stalker_kook_idiot_lameass_flaccidphalluscom_flaccid_phallus_vancouver_bc_canada.html

He further made these connections here:

A bit of clarification.

zoinky420 often uses an email chevdo@...

not too many chevdo around

I googled zoinky420 + chevdo to come up with certain pieces of roland hardware that both sockpuppets post as having.

Also, overlapping language patterns, fear of being mocked combined with paranoia + a tendency to insult people who don't agree with him/them.

A bit more searching and we get jeremy tolsma is chevdo and that he lives in Vancouver, not hollywood. He's got quite the reputation, no wonder he changed his handle.

We also get that he's been a known troll for at least a decade.

Definitely disturbed if you go by his posts as chevdo + zoinky.

Dangerous character. If you're a paraplegic with no cane.

Harmless but lonely.

Jeremy, we're here to help."

Really. What am I supposed to make out of all of this? Honestly, as I said, I am done with yahoo groups. I'm looking for a sense of community and like-minded individuals who want to discuss music and electronics and circuit-bending... not engage in some sort of obsessive-compulsive performance art.

I sent him an email, to the one he posts on the circuit bending Yahoo! group with.  I don't really expect a reply.  It's odd that he's perfectly civil and indeed quite constructive in his discussions on the Korg Poly-800 list - even with me - but still seems to be really angry about something I posted over two years ago.

I can't even remember what I posted that upset him so much.  I kind of wish I could, but I don't really care.  Not even enough to create a fake account to search back through the archives (which are members-only).
