Help! My PSS-30 has stopped working.
« on: May 22, 2009, 08:46:03 PM »

I recently bent my first keyboard, the Yamaha PSS-30 and it sounded fuckin great! Unfortunately it looked like shit, the case wouldn't shut and all the soldering was really bad. So I built a wooden case for it, painted it black and removed all the solder ready to bend it again. It worked for about five minutes, then while I was probing around for bend points it just stopped working. No sound whatsoever. I am totally gutted as the case took me bloody ages to make.
Can anyone help me please?

If you haven't taken the batteries out and put them back in, do that first. If that doesn't work, maybe just let it sit there for a week or two. I did this with my SA2 recently after it died on me and now it works fine.

Cheers mate. I'll try and sit it out then.
Funnily enough I have a Casio SA-2. I bought it the other day for £3 from Cash Converters. That is my next project!
If I can't revive my PSS-30 hopefully I'll be able to use the case I made for the SA-2 after I bend it.
How does letting it sit for a week or two work?

I don't really know; I thought I killed my SA2 so I just had it sitting on my floor for a week or two, then for some reason I added a jack to it again, and it was working perfectly. I hope it works for you!
