Title: Custom DDD-1 Roms
Post by: LoFi-Ninja on July 30, 2009, 03:00:17 AM
Looking at this site http://www.geocities.com/korgdddmods/index (http://www.geocities.com/korgdddmods/index)

It seems that making your own "rom cards" is rather straight foreward.

The last update was almost 8 months ago so it seems this project is dead..

Can anyone shed some light on the preperations of the samples before they get burned to the EPPROM ? I'm guessing you might know something about this Gordon..

Like most early digital drum machines, the samples are probably 8-bit, probably unsigned although they may use some oddball coding like µ-law (the Sequential Drumtraks has this).  If you can pull an existing ROM or even the internal one, it should be possible to work it out from that.

I have a couple of the original cards.. How would one do that ? I have no experience with EPPROMS and the like..
