Title: Parts from PAIA theremin...any ideas?
Post by: broken in brain on December 16, 2009, 11:23:38 PM
A friend of a friend dropped this by my house last night..said he had lost the directions and box and the rest of the parts. Looks like most of it is there. Anyone have any ideas of good uses for the parts? I know there is alot of controls and stuff like pots and jacks they are all there..what about the IC's and such. Seems like a goldmine of crazy shit for a new guy like myself. ANyone have any good ideas?
thanks
Colin

you could always buy the rest of the parts and make a PAIA theremin.

You can find the schematic at http://www.paia.com/ProdArticles/theresch.htm (http://www.paia.com/ProdArticles/theresch.htm) and i'm sure i've seen the build manual on the paia site somewhere. If not i can guarantee that if you sent them an email and explained the situation they would help you out. Scott from Paia is one of the most helpful people i've ever spoken too.

I second the "build a theremin" idea ;-)

has anybody thought of trying to build a theramin NOT from a kit?

i've noticed a lot of articles, vintage popular electronics from the '50s, etc. on how to build one.

I built a theremin from scratch a while back and it worked pretty well. I don't actually recall where the schematic was from though so this post has been waste of everyones time  ::)  ;)
