How do you use inherently inconsistent devices in settings that require some baseline of consistency? I'm talking levels, frequencies, as well as protecting your ditties from-on-the road destruction.
This is my rig:

Home-bent Speaks, Gameboy pitches and APCs run into a barhenger tabletop 8 track mixer-main out into a presonus comp 16 for limiting. I thought I was pretty smart until I nearly destroyed Eddie Money's $60,000 touring setup with my first note.
Someone out there, please share your wisdom.

sample them ?
get something with a dedicated brickwall limiter in it and stick it over the main mix? Or it might be an idea to get a graphic equaliser or high pass filter and cut the extreme bottom end.
How did you nearly destroy ' Eddie Money's $60,000 touring setup'?
