so far, I have only changed the settings on some diodes on the mt-520
shady purple lamp -buurr duh hurr (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnS-p6hYSYM#)
(ADMIN EDIT: changed the youtube URL so it displays in the thread properly)
for some reason that video plays really fast for 10 seconds and then ends, but the audio carries on at the right speed. Weird!
I really like that thing, its got a very strange sludgy grinding sound to it. ;)
I don't really know what happened with that video. I really enjoy the sound of it, but would like to bend the mt-520 alot more. I have yet to even open up the monotron, but I would imagine it would have alot of fun possibility.
any suggestions on what could be done to either?
Apart from the MT540 and the ones with analogue percussion, i dislike most casio MT's i've seen as they tend to be a major pain in the ass to get them to do anything interesting. To be honest, i've only tried a few though so i might have just been unlucky.
Theres loads of stuff all over the web for the monotron. After all, Korg seemed to have designed it to be modded.
I'm considering adding an osculator to the monotron, but not sure how to go about doing that.
I got a monotron the other week from a friend who wasn't impressed with it. I'll do a little write up on the mods when I do them if you want.

I've modified the mt 520 more.
you should try and get the monotron delay inside the mt 520!! I agree also, the first video has some great sounds
a bit of housework on those links would go a long way here! ;)

I could remove a speaker from the mt-520 and fit the monotron into it, but I have been playing around with cross-bending
with the monotron and now have a "bender-sequencer" I need to get a drum machine (the drum section of the mt520 died with the implementation of an overdrive) :/
here is some newer stuff.
