Title: envelope / inverse envelope vactrols
Post by: Dj Task Manager on October 28, 2013, 04:56:28 PM
Hello folks,

Im trying to make LED envelope indicator circuits to use as vactrols in my SK5.  I want one LED that is bright then dips when the note sounds and one that is dark then illuminates (repeated 4 times for the 4 envelopes of the polyphony) .  This is so I can modulate the other effects I have added with the envelope signal via vactrols.

I made a couple of crumby circuits botching together schematics off of the internet with NPN and PNP transistors however they seem to have stopped working and im flummoxed.  Has anyone seen a circuit that would do this?

Thanks!

This is a work around I have come up with.  It works quite nicely, I was just curious if it is bad sick and wrong to use an LDR to short across the LEDs?  Will the LDR die after a short amount of use?
