Ok, what is going on here..
I open up and see an actual PCB where a crystal clock / timing capacitor is supposed to be.. There is three connections to the rest of the board..  Should i remove it and replace with something else, or is it possible to modify it to get changable clocking ?
Anyone seen this before?

Depends what's on the PCB, and what it's in.  Can you give us some more details, and possibly a pic of the board?

there's 5-6 resistors, a transistor and a capacitor.. I will take a pic.. If I can find my friggin camera.. Keep alert!

are you sure that's a timing circuit and not for amplification?

yes
