Title: mechanial sequencer v3.1 modified sk5 and dr110
Post by: Dj Task Manager on February 27, 2014, 11:17:35 PM
here's the newest version of my big major project.  All the audio is triggered by the rotary switch sequencer thingy on the left of the screen.  Not the best performance, mostly just a demo of the machines functionality: Mechanical Sequencer v3.1 on Vimeo (http://vimeo.com/87805424)

Beautiful....in all senses!  Great work!

Can we get some closer pics of the sequencer & its mechanics?

yeah, i'll post some up soon.  It works by a big rotary switch shutting 64 contacts which feeds a 64 row by 12 channel matrix of header pins, (in this setup the 12 channels correspond to trigger the 12 notes of an octave on the sk5), putting an LED into the matrix to bridge between the 64 vertical row and the 12 horizontal channels feeds a bank of relays which shut circuits which simulate note presses on the sk5 and dr110.  I'm currently building a new new sequencer which uses light.  I soldered a bank of almost 500 LDRs the other day, good lord i think im going mad.
