Title: Kawai K4/K4r bending tips?
Post by: Louzdig on March 04, 2016, 09:22:10 PM
Would anybody share some tips, schematics &/or pictures about/from their bent K4/k4r? Please. That would be really kinda nice. I know they exist. And they sound good. I know you can hear me. I know you have a screwdriver and phone that can take decent pictures. Pleeaaase!  ;D

(well you got the idea)

Sound ROM's are at the back in sockets aren't they? Try shorting the pins together.

Thanks for the answer! However I'm not ready to risk that yet (i'm not even sure i can locate the sound roms). Just a newbie asking for receipts   :P

They're the three big chips that say KAWAI on them. You only need to test one of them as i'd imagine they all connect together pin to pin.
You can probably find the pinout with a little searching. I'd use the ground pin but not the positive power pin.

If you're not willing to risk shorting the pins together then i suspect you're not going to get very far!

You're right, and thank you again for answering! (...think i'm going to experiment with cheaper equipment first though :) )
