Title: Alesis HR-16 crashes when more then 3 cables connected to patchbay
Post by: johnny_dub on February 27, 2019, 04:33:51 PM
Hi guys,
I did mod my HR-16 pretty standard with the suggested 28 points on the romchips. Leaving out VPP, VCC, /OE, /CE pins.
After finishing I realized it crashes almost everytime i connect 4 or more wires...
Is that normal or did I fuck something up?
If it is the usual behaviour...I assume the voltage adds up on the chip and at some point it reboots...is there a trick like adding small resistors to raise the number of simultanious bends?
Glad for some advise. :)
Cheers

Are you sure you eliminated every positive power rail pin? If i recall correctly theres more than one.

Unless you have an unstable HR16, you should be able to use almost every patchbay point simultaneously before it crashes!
I have a vague recollection of similar behaviour on an HR16 i had a while back that had suspect leaky filter caps up by the the power input
