« on: July 19, 2006, 09:29:12 PM »

Hi there,

I read a topic on the internet about someone who changed his telephone into a onstage-microphone. I surfed google for it, but i couldnt find any howto's pics, help etc!
Does someone has the info to build one?
Sounds pretty cool for gigs!

Just cutt the telephone cord and solder a 1/4 inch jack (for guitar amps) or an XLR (for mixers) plug at the other end.
If your not sure which cord is the telephone speaker and which the mic, you can just go by trial and error or open the phone and check it out.

The telephone mic sound is highly useable,

You can make mics from headphones and small speakers this way also.

I think you're referring to Frivolous (www.frivolouslive.com).  He seriously rocks my socks.  I talked with him about the red phone this summer - he said he replaced the factory mic with a Behringer mic and put some thin foam over it as a windguard.  Aside from that, sounds like migraneboy's got it covered on the other end.  I LOVE that phone.
