I have bent a PSR-215 and it sounds great. What would make it better though, is syncing it up to the rest of my kit.
What I plan to do is this:-
On the LED display on the keyboard there is a light that flashes along with the beat count. So, I thought I could add another LED in series, make that into a vactrol and then I could have a signal that pulsed on each beat of the bar.
Is this the best way to go about this?
If I can get it to work, I can send the clock signal to a 4017 sequencer, which will be connected to an APC or similar, and then I can add interesting bass lines,melodies etc, all perfectly in sync. There is plenty of room to house it all in the PSR which will make an awesome workstation.
Thoughts anyone?

Do you need to add a vactrol? Surely the voltage pulse that powers the PSR's LED is already a signal that pulses on the beat isn't it?
Can't you just wire something straight into that? Or maybe i'm thinking about this completely wrong.

Don't wire it in series, wire it in parallel.   You may need to adjust the series resistor if there is one.

Sorry, I meant in parellel.
So the signal that is going to the LED on the display will be enough to clock the 4017? If so, that makes it a bit easier to make.
