i am terminally curious about this...of course, i speak of the LFO mod for the sk1.

could someone please post a drawing of this?

also, if  i build a simple VCF, can i incorporate that into the chip of the sk1?

i think a drawing of this would benefit many, since this bend is so new, compared to the basic patch matrix on the sk1, etc.

There's an LFO posted by gmeredith in the CasioSK Yahoo group, but it's just a standard 555 osc circuit, it's the PDF with instructions for DIY vactrols.

the only way i know about this is i saw an sk1 with an lfo on ebay. i'd like to learn how to do this.

i wish someone had a drawing of it so i could learn how to do it. i know how to make a basic lfo...so how would i hook it up to an sk1?

i think i might be missing something here. What do you actually want to do with an LFO on an SK1?

You want to know how to 'hook it up to an SK1' but what to do what?

until i install it, i do not know...i saw it mentioned. maybe instead of lfo it was a filter. it was a whole other circuit, connected to the sk1, and runs on a 9v battery. if  i find a link, i'll post it. i'm surprised nobody here has done this...

They probably have, but seeing as you don't know what it is or what it does, it might be difficult to say either way.

sometimes people do come here, not knowing all the answers, looking for inspiration to try things  they have not yet tried. i heard about a lfo/timer mod for the sk1. i was not sure what it would do, then again, i am new to circuit bending, therefore, until i build some of these things, i have no idea what they are supposed to do. i am also too young at this to have a theory behind everything i do.

anyhow, i finally did what i set out to do...i built a basic 555 based lfo and with some help from phantom powers and a few others, i hooked the lfo up to three bends,

it seems to act like a filter! i like how i can do more without the sk1 crashing than other mods...and it effects the "synth" mode of the sk1, for some reason, most other bends tend to crash on synth mode.

the mod uses two 500k pots and a 100k pot. there are so many different varriables with this! i must make a video...

while i had the sk1 apart, i added a couple of body contacts as well. and wired a toggle switch to the bendpoints from the lfo.  one thing i forgot to do, was a "power crash" between the positive leed of the battery cable...i may go back and do this.

i don't think there is a schematic or anything for this mod...it is pretty easy to build a basic lfo and you just hook it up to different points on the PCB with crock clips, until you find something you like. the pitch points, around where the tuning trimmer is connected is a good place to start...

You can also send the out from the LFO to the pitch trimmer to get a really rough tremolo.  However, it screws with the intonation of the machine.
