Weird price break points at component suppliers

Has anyone else noticed some of the bizarre prices break points that some component suppliers have?

I was ordering some tactile switches for 303 / 606 switch boards from Mouser the other day and for some reason if you buy 50 they are 62p each, coming to a total of £31. On the other hand, if you buy 100 then they are 25p each, coming to a total of £25. Its actually £6 cheaper to buy 100 than it is to buy 50!  :o

How does that even begin to make sense?

The Mouser site is full of them. I needed 22 of a certain capacitor for recapping a few mixer channels and discovered it was actually cheaper to get 50 than to get 22.

Anyone else seen any weird ones?

My dad bought some special instrumentation opamps for a project at the medical electronics company he worked at, over 20 years ago.  It was cheaper *in cash terms* to buy 1000 than 100 - by a few pence only, but still - so they still have around 950 lying in a box up in their loft somewhere.
