hi, i just picked one of these up 2nd hand, it's quite a laugh.
so i'm wondering if people are familiar with it, and have thought
of mods. (i've knocked up a fantasy list...)

in fact, probably more about firmware, since there are some
obvious improvements that could be made - possibly.

evidently not a lot of takers on this one. ! update:

truth is, the firmware on this machine is lacking in many areas,
and it seems the firm went under before user requests got dealt
with. shame, bcs it's a good unit+format, and good be more versatile.

with a bit of use, i identified a little list of things that would make
it a lot better, but its just a wishlist.

as its an firmware+eeprom issue, its a job for someone with
prog'ing skills with extracting data, assembly language etc.
apparently the source code is no longer available. if anyone
has any tech info/docs about the hardware, could they please post it
here? thanks.

I think the main problem with the rave-o-lution was that it was called the rave-o-lution!

I bet you could track down either Friedhelm Haas or Jörg Reichstein, the two guys that ran Quasimidi. If they are even still in the synth industry that is.

Every Quasimidi product i have ever used had appalling midi timing, but i haven't ever used a rave-o-lution.

+1 on the name...and the MIDI issue, i'm prepared to believe that too...

i got it off ebay, and got the mods, but all i needed was the v3 OS eeprom
really, since before you couldn't copy 'motifs' (basic pattern unit).

as one used to yamaha sequencers etc. i find it could do a lot more. almost
as if it wasn't designed by a MIDI user.
i'll see if i can track those names down, see what they say.
