Sequential Circuits TOM EPROM decoding
« on: August 31, 2014, 02:53:59 PM »

I'm trying to sort out the sound EPROMS on the Sequential Circuits TOM drum machine.  Unlike the older Drumtraks, the TOM does not have a one EPROM per voice setup.  Instead, multiple sounds go on two chips.  From the service manual, I believe the chips have a header which lists the starting address, length and filtering status (sounds go through switchable analog filters) of each sound.  Is there any standard way this is stored so that I could create my own to make custom sound chips?  Or does anyone have a suggested approach toward decoding this data?

Thanks for any help!

Well, someone has figured it out!
Check out Bob Grieb's site:

He's also made a Tom multi-cart!
