Casiotone MT-21 [no rhythm]
« on: February 23, 2015, 06:31:41 PM »

Hello and good day!
I have been exploring and designing new extensions on the rom chips inside this lil beasty, and this morning I turn it on to get busy...And to my surprise, there is no rhythm.
Would this be the internal clock?
I played around with some of the factory dials underneath the board itself. would I have made a short some-wheres?
This makes me a wee bit sad where it all matters, would any of you cats know a way I can repair the rhythm section?

 In advance, thanks heaps!

i'm not familiar with the MT-21, but if it is like an MT-45 all the accompaniment [drums, bass, arpeggios], all end up together].

do any accompaniment parts work?

Could you try creating a little audio finder setup - i get a tiny guitar amp, plug a cable in, put the wire ground to ground and probe around with the 'hot/signal' part of the cable to try and see if i get any sound.

No, I think that you have most likely erased the ROM in the NEC rhythm chip
