CB55 - How about an Arduino Shield Version?
« on: August 04, 2015, 11:56:41 AM »

Here's an idea: how about a version of the CB55 in Arduino Shield format?
Yes, I know the Arduino runs on 5v (or 3.3), but the original DR-55 runs on a 9v battery (about half-dead most of the time in my case), so how difficult would it be to make it run on 5v?
It would take a redesign of the circuitboard, but think of the possible market - a DR-55 sound generator you can just plug into an Arduino Uno would mean you can write your own sequencer, interface with MIDI, etc.. how cool would THAT be?
[before you ask, I'm not volunteering to redesign the board! I would be #1 on the beta-testers list, though.. and I could probably knock up a basic software sequencer, too.. ]
