Output jack - noise - need some help
« on: February 06, 2017, 12:34:36 AM »

I recently bent a Fisher Price telephone but I can swap the (16 ohm) speaker with an output jack. When I plug it into a amplifier all I can listen is a lot of noise. But when I plug my headphone it works but VERY loud. I tried the signal level attenuator I found on another post http://www.epanorama.net/circuits/speaker_to_line.html but hasnt worked yet. I tried different resistors (up to 1M) but all I can hear is noise.
Any tip?

I wired a 8ohm resistor between the two tips of jack and it worked.
