Casio SA series line output
« on: September 17, 2017, 02:23:03 PM »

OK, so I have a Casio SA-67 that I would like to install a line output jack on
Is there a good way to do it?

Hi IWBACB,

I'm not familiar with the SA-67, but I assume it has a built-in speaker and the diagram below (taken from Reed Ghazala's excellent book 'Circuit Bending: How to Build Your own Alien Instruments') gives you a general overview of how to go about it.

There's a slightly more complex version on the equally excellent Casper Electronics website - sadly on a hiatus atm but thankfully still available in an archive here:

Hope that helps!

OK, and as for the crash switch, where would I wire that to?

Not sure if it would be exactly the same for the SA-67, but there's some great SA-xx tutorials with diagrams (including the crash mod) over at the old Casper site. I'd start by looking for similarities with your board and go from there.

There are also some other useful tutorials to get you started on other projects too:

OK. And tablehooters states that the SA-65/SA-67 have empty solder holes for a line output to be inserted
