Hi general calisti,
Have you tried with the same lfo, but converting the output voltage to a variable resistor? If you build a vactrol (LDR+LED together) the output goes to flash the LED which in turns will vary the amount of resistance in the LDR and this gives you a controlled variable resistor that you can hookup in parallele or in series to the pitch potentiometer!

I have a Memoplay too, and can’t wait to bend it (as soon as I have some time).
