Before I start - I'm looking for advice on learning how to mod my keyboard, as I can't seem to find many in-depth 'tutorials' on the internet, but if the reason for this is that people think posting how-to's destroys the 'spirit of circuit-bending', then I'll completely understand! Just tell me.
Right, so, I'm relatively new to the bending scene; I've recently acquired a Casio SA-21 and also just bought a Casio SK-1, and would like to perform some simple modifications to the latter to ease myself into bending. I like making random noises, however as I'm planning to use the keyboard in my band (http://www.myspace.com/brightlightsareaband), I'm really more interested in some of the 'simpler' mods anyway, such as a pitch shifter, or one of the rhythm mods I've heard on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-LY_BuGgCk) where elements of the drum tracks can be silenced / 'doubled'...? I'm pretty good with a soldering iron, and I've got some random potentiometers / toggle switches lying around, so is there anything simple anyone can suggest to begin my journey into bending?!!
The Sk-1 is a pretty easy bend and there's a lot in there. If you stick to the three big chips directly to the left of the square chip you should be fine. Just try out connnections between the pins and see what you like then wire in a toggle switch. Most of the stuff is pretty chaotic, but there are some more musical sounds in there.
